After celebrating three years as a loveteam, are Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber finally ready to take their relationship to the next level?
“Hindi pa, (Not yet,)” Maymay told the media during a bloggers’ conference for their “M.E. and U” September concert.
She admitted that she isn’t looking for a romantic partner right now and instead wants to focus on her family.
“Sa ngayon siguro mas focus ako sa pamilya ko muna. Pero nandiyan lang naman si Dodong [Edward],” she explained. “Naging bahagi na siya ng buhay ko at ayaw ko na rin siyang mawala. Ayaw ko siyang mawala, pero half doon ay may freedom siya kung ano ang gusto niyang gawin.”
(“Right now I want to focus on my family first. But I know Edward will always be by my side. He’s become a part of my life and I don’t want to lose him. I don’t want to lose him, and yet I want to give him freedom to do what he wants to do.”)
Meanwhile, Edward revealed that he does see Maymay as “girlfriend material.”
“She’s very girlfriend material to the point [that] I don’t want to see her as the girlfriend of another,” he said. However, he wants it all to happen naturally.

“I am taking my time with everything I do whether it would be with Maymay and work. So ayokong mag-rush. Ayokong may pressure para maging isang love team na real when it’s not. So whatever is happening, hindi ko alam kung paano i-describe, ‘yun ang nangyayari. Whatever they see we want to be real whether in vlogs, TV, or in a concert, happy lang kami sa kung ano ang mayroon,” he added.

So whatever is happening between us right now, I don’t know how to describe it, that’s what’s happening. Whatever they see we want to be real whether in vlogs, TV, or in a concert, we’re just happy with what we have.”)
They also don’t mind if their loveteam breaks up in the future, claiming that “if it happens, it happens.” But no matter where the future takes them, they’re confident that they won’t let each other fade out from their lives.

Maymay and Edward have been love team partners since they met in Pinoy Big Brother in 2016.
They will soon hold their concert, “M.E. & U.,” on September 27 at the New Frontier Theater.
