Gerald Anderson’s mom didn’t mince words when she finally spoke up about his controversial breakup with ex Bea Alonzo.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Evangeline Opsima aired out her disapproval over Bea as her son’s girlfriend.

“Bea, siguro alam mo na ako walang gusto sa’yo bilang naging girlfriend ng anak ko. Pero wala akong magagawa, ginusto ka ng anak ko. Ina niya lang ako,” she said. “Ginusto ka ng anak ko, minahal ka ni Gerald. Hindi ka niya binastos kailanman.”
She admitted that she felt bad for her son over the accusations made by Bea’s camp against him. She wished that the two could have settled matters privately instead of letting the public know.
“Ngayon kung may problema kayong dalawa, bakit hindi kayo nag-uusap dalawa? Instead na lumantad ka agad sa TV. Hindi masamang tao ang anak ko,” she added.

She then gave advice for Gerald’s young costar Julia Barretto who has since found herself involved in the breakup controversy as the rumored third party—which both Gerald and Julia have denied.
“Hindi ko sinasabing ayaw kita, no, ang akin lang, ang advice ko lang sa’yo, please, ayoko kasi may edad na rin si Gerald sa’yo. Hindi rin kayo magtagal kasi alam ko, nasa industriya ka rin,” she said, addressing Julia.

Until now, the Bea-Gerald-Julia issue is still a hot topic among Filipinos. Julia has already released statements on Instagram and through interviews clearing her name of the allegations that she’s the reason for couple’s breakup. Meanwhile, Gerald blamed it on the frequent fights which eventually made the relationship unhealthy. Bea, on the other hand, revealed that they never broke up properly.
