Boy runs 10km on school corridors, now a SEA Games athlete

Originally trained as a swimmer, Nicholas Rachmadi decided to pivot to triathlon after recording a 2.4km time at NAPFA with 8 minutes and 55 seconds time, according to the Second Wind Nation.

Unfortunately, when his father asked the school if he could train on the track with the school’s long-distance running team, he was told that his son might “not be able to keep up with the track and field athletes.” Hence, they can’t customize a program for him.

Not to let this be a reason to stop from training, Rachmadi started training on a 250m corridor in his school, where he would run up to 10km a day.

After running, he would still continue with his swimming practice.

Then, he started getting noticed in competitions.

He posted on Instagram that he has been nominated for a slot at the 30th SEA Games.
