It has been quite a long legal battle between two of the biggest Hollywood celebrities, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. Now, two other big stars have joined the spotlight, James Franco and Elon Musk have reportedly been added by Depp’s legal team of ordering a document for them to appear in court.
The subpoena is about how James Franco is part of the defamation lawsuit against Depp’s ex-wife, Amber Heard. In light of this, let me refresh your memory and summarize what has happened: 2016 was the year Heard filed for divorce after being married for 15 years to Depp. She mentioned the verbal and physical abuse she received from him and got $7 Million as a divorce settlement. This year, the tables have turned as Depp files a defamation lawsuit where he mentioned Depp was actually the one who received physical abuse from Heard.
Back to more recent news. Heard’s attorney, Eric M. Geroge said, “Amber Heard and James Franco once lived in the same apartment complex and were simply taking an elevator at the same time. Period. Johnny Depp and his team have been trying—and failing—to place a salacious story based on this irrelevant footage for weeks. It’s pathetic.”
According to a statement from Depp’s attorney shared with The Blast, “We are interested in James Franco and Elon Musk as fact witnesses because we have evidence they are men who saw Amber Heard’s face in the days and nights between when she claimed Mr. Depp smashed her in the face on May 21 and when she went to court with painted on ‘bruises’ to obtain a Temporary Restraining Order on May 27.”
As for Elon Musk’s relation to this, you can recall Amber Heard actually dated the widely-known entrepreneur in 2017.
