WATCH: Office chair racing looks like the greatest sport ever!

Just when you thought office chairs can’t be fun, Japan changes all of that and make them really interesting.

On Sunday morning, Hanyu, a city in Japan, hosted the Isu Grand Prix, which is an ultra-competitive race run by a bunch of people seated on office chairs. This hilarious-looking yet serious sport is now on its 10th year.

Watch a clip of the race below.

In this race, teams of three compete against others for a whopping two-hour long race to complete the most laps.

Tsuyoshi Tahara, the genius behind this competition, said that he was inspired by Formula One and Le Mans. He created the Isu Grand Prix race in 2009. The race has been featured at 10 different locations across Japan since its creation a decade ago.

When someone tells you their racing series is inspired by Formula One or Le Mans, it will usually lead you to think that it involves some high-performance cars that race at prestigious international tracks. Isu Grand Prix is way different but this office chair racing feels like it’s the greatest sport ever.

The prize for this year’s race is 90kg of rice together with the title of “best driver”.
