Bea Chua-Syson and her husband travel occasionally, mostly with her husband’s family. Their latest stop? Croatia, where they joined a tour group in the Balkan region which included Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro. “Luckily, Dubrovnik was in the itinerary,” Bea gushes. “It was the cherry on top! My husband and I are ‘Game of Thrones’ fans and it was the highlight of our trip!”
Bea’s tour group arranged a local tour guide to show them around the Old Town for an hour or so. The tour guide had a folder with photos of screenshots of scenes from ‘Game of Thrones’, and they were then given free time to explore the place on their own. “We also did a little Googling on shoot locations, and we were fortunate to have enough free time to explore and shoot,” she shares.
When it comes to traveling to key fandom destinations, Bea stresses that research is key! She suggests having pegs on-hand if you really want to re-enact a scene. Of course, a local guide would be helpful, as well.
