SPOILER ALERT: 10 Best Lines from Avengers: Endgame

WARNING: This is a spoiler-filled post. If you haven’t watched Endgame yet, turn back. You have been warned.

With 22 movies under the Marvel Cinematic Universe since 2008, the long-awaited conclusion of the Infinity War Arc has finally arrived.

To celebrate one of the best Marvel movies to date, here’s a quick rundown of the quotes from Avengers: Endgame that really hit the spot. LAST WARNING: Last chance to turn back now! Spoilers for Endgame are right below this!

“Part of the journey is the end.” – Tony Stark

Adrift in outer space with only a day’s worth of oxygen left, the beginning of Endgame was pretty dark. These words from Tony Stark really established that this movie is gonna be the last.

It may hard to admit — and if it were me, I could go on watching Iron Man forever — some good things must inevitably come to an end. Knowing that there is a finish line makes the journey all the more special.

“Because before, you didn’t have me.” – Carol Danvers

The arrival of Captain Marvels in the Avengers HQ is probably one of the most tension-filled scenes ever. Everybody was on edge. Everybody was testing each other.

But Carol just comes in there, overflowing with confidence, with nothing to prove. She. Just. Is. She doesn’t even flinch when Stormbreaker comes close to skinning her face off.

That’s the kind of confidence that all women must aspire to be. Nothing is impossible for a woman who knows who she truly is and what she is capable of.

“I saw all these people die.” – Thor

The sight of Thor breaking down at the mention of Thanos’ name is probably one of the most heartbreaking scenes. We may laugh off his PTSD because of the comic spin Marvel has put in it but it doesn’t make it any less severe.

PTSD is PTSD. People suffer. It’s heartbreaking.

But if there’s anything good that came from Thor’s PTSD, it’s the way he overcomes it with family. Thor’s journey reminds us that no matter how harrowing your experience may have been, you are never alone.

“I keep telling everybody they should move on. Some do, but not us.” – Steve Rogers

That scene where Steve and Natasha share a peanut butter and jelly sandwich after five years of unfruitfulness is sad, to say the least. It’s hard to move on from a devastating loss, especially if that loss is having 50 percent of the universe wiped out.

What I’ve always loved about Marvel is that they make every character relatable. Indeed, pain is difficult to move on from. But pain is also the biggest motivation to do whatever it takes to be better.

“Clint, let me go.” – Natasha Romanoff

This is probably one of the scenes that really tore my heart into pieces. The friendship of Clint and Natasha is one of the purest and most beautiful things that ever happened to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

It was a friendship that overlooked each other’s pasts, no matter how horrible it is. It was a friendship that brought out the best in each other.

It was a friendship founded on sacrifice. Ultimately, that sacrifice may hurt but if you do it for a friend, it’s always worth it. Always.

“Hey, man! Make love, not war!” – 70’s Car Man

Stan Lee’s cameo is supposed to be a funny scene. It is, but it’s still bittersweet.

Marvel fans around the world are happy to see that the man who started it all still made it to the Endgame, but it still hurts to remember that we won’t be having any Stan Lee cameos anymore.

“I’ll make you remember.” – Wanda Maximoff

Scarlet Witch’s face-off with Thanos was one of the most epic scenes in the movie. Not only do we see her power in full glory, but we also get the satisfaction of seeing toxic masculinity kicked in the ass.

Karma’s a bitch, and her name is Scarlet Witch.

“I love you three thousand.” – Tony Stark

Tony Stark as a father is one of the most fulfilling parts of the movie. We already see glimpses of his fatherly instinct in Spiderman: Homecoming, but we know he represses it to stay cool.

But once Tony had Morgan, everything changed. He’s gone soft, but also strong.

It is his love for his family that brought him to finish what he started beautifully. There is nothing more fierce than a parent’s love for his child.

“Tony, we’ll be okay. You can rest now.” – Pepper Potts

Pass the box of tissue because this has got to be one of the most heart-wrenching scenes in the movie. It made everyone across the cinema shed tears. It was just so beautiful.

It was like seeing the Godfather of the MCU pass the baton to the next generation. Even if that scene marked the end of a legend, it was also the beginning of more.

The last page of a chapter is just a doorway to the next chapter’s adventures. We’re all excited to see what the MCU will be with the next generation of Avengers.

“I. Am. Iron Man.” – Tony Stark

Ironman

The line that started it all is the line that marked its end. The whole Avengers: Endgame was a tribute to the past 22 movies that struck the hearts of many.

That line is a perfect ending to such a Marvel-ous journey. It tied everything in a neat little bow.

It was this line that brought Iron Man into the MCU, and it was also this line that marked his goodbye. We’re all sad (to say the least) to see Tony Stark go, but that was the best exit any character could ever have. It was an exit he deserved.

Avengers Infinity War

There are still so many beautiful lines in Avengers: Endgame.

If I could quote the whole movie, I would.

The film was a tribute to everyone who has worked hard to make the franchise and the fans who fell in love with the series since it began in 2008.

It’s the Endgame, and it’s the best ending anyone could ever think of.
