Paulo Avelino is Set to Star as the Idol You’ll Never Want to Meet in ‘Fan Girl’

Goyo star Paulo Avelino has confirmed that he’ll be officially joining Antoinette Jadaone’s new film, Fan Girl, after he tweeted out a photo of his copy of the movie script.

The photo was an answer he gave to a Twitter user who asked if there was ever a chance that he would fall in love with a fan—a topic that will definitely be explored in the upcoming film.

According to the official synopsis, Fan Girl follows the story of “an obsessed teenage fan” who ends up inside the mansion of her idol, only to realize exactly why you should never meet your heroes. Paulo will most likely play the lead role of “idol,” but there hasn’t been any word yet on who will be playing opposite him in this seemingly intense movie. What we can be sure about, though, is that she will be a fresh face in the movie industry after Antoinette, under production companies Epicmedia (That Thing Called Tadhana), Black Sheep (Alone/Together), and Project 8 Corner San Joaquin Projects (Alone/Together), launched a casting call for the role of “fangirl” for those with “little to no acting experience.”

Whoever “fangirl” will be must be considering herself lucky now that she’ll be starring in a film alongside a celebrity heartthrob. We’d say we’re jealous, but the official Fan Girl synopsis warns us otherwise.

More details about the film, including its release date, have yet to be revealed.
