When in Manila, Watch the Star Wars Episode 1 (The Phantom Menace) in 3D

When in Manila, the opening crawl which says, A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away.. will once again be seen, but this time in 3D! The force is with us, and the Star Wars Episode 1 (The Phantom Menace) in 3D is opening in theaters today, February 9th.

 

 

Even before Harry Potter was born and Edward Cullen fell inloved with Bella, the Jedi and their lightsabers have been in the hearts of movie-goers. The Star Wars saga is a modern-day fairy tale reflecting the vision of George Lucas.  It is a mix of fantasy, history and culture depicting American pop culture and Japanese samurai epics.  

 

Watching the movie screening last Sunday together with friends, Cosplayers and Star Wars fanatics (and even R2D2) is like being a kid once again. I raced with Anakin, got mesmerized with Amidala and almost got blinded with those lightsabers during Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Maul‘s duel.

 

 

How fun it is to be the kids of today?  They get to see an epic movie in a whole new dimension. But I think it’s more fun to be at this age – where I get to experience both hypes of the film – 2D or 3D.
