LOOK: This DOT Cordillera Campaign Is Perfect For The Heartbroken

Where do broken hearts go nga ba, tita Whitney?

If your answer to that question is Sagada, then you can blame it on that 2014 sleeper hit film That Thing Called Tadhana, the charming indie rom-com that cemented Antoinette Jadaone’s status as master storyteller of all kilig-fests, while showing picturesque landscapes of the Cordilleras.

That Thing Called Tadhana Hugot Overload (8)

Thanks to this movie, the North has become the destination of choice when soul-searching after a heartbreak. Three years later and we still haven’t gotten over the hugot culture, and more people are still climbing to Mt. Kiltepan (or Mt. Pulag if you’re a little more daring) to scream all their love woes to the sky at the top of their lungs, in true Angelica Panganiban fashion.

So, of course, it just seemed fitting when the Department of Tourism – Cordilleras released these memes that will tug a chord among the sawi. The memes are really witty, with descriptions such as “Bontoc, para sa puso mong ayaw nang tumibok”. Heavy stuff. Nagmahal, nasaktan, namasyal sa Cordillera!
