It’s Not Yet Over: Let’s Help Save the Children of Marawi!

Children affected by the armed conflict in Marawi need our help! According to the United Children’s Fund (Unicef), around 50,000 children have been displaced from the fighting. They have left their homes and schools.  Families have sought shelter in the houses of relatives, while some are forced to crowd into evacuation camps. In evacuation centers, they are exposed to health risks, from dehydration, sickness, and hunger.

The children of Marawi need food, clothes, toys, diapers, medicine, mosquito nets, sleeping materials, and much moral support to keep their health—and spirits–up.

Save the children of Marawi

The funds that we shall raise will help with the humanitarian efforts, especially in some municipalities in Lanao del Sur where help is slower to come. We have reached out to the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) Liaison Office in Metro Manila for advice and logistics support.

We were told that nutritional supplements for infants and older children are also in very short supply. Given the stress the children are experiencing; their immune system need a boost.

The money that we shall raise will be used to buy relief goods. The ARMM Liaison Office in Metro Manila will ship the goods to an ARMM relief distribution center in Cotobato, from where there is some leeway to access areas outside of the reach of other relief agencies.
