This season of America’s Got Talent is shaping up to be a memorable one, with acts such as 12-year-old ventriloquist Darcy Lynne being added into the mix. Yet what seems to be the most heartwarming act so far on America’s Got Talent has just won the hearts of the America’s Got Talent judges, especially Simon Cowell’s.
29-year-old Mandy Harvey has been singing since she was four, but her musical journey has not been easy. Mandy suffered from a connective tissue disorder when she was 18, deteriorating her nerves and leading her to lose her hearing completely.
Mandy, however, decided that she wouldn’t give up, and sang an original song called “Try”, bringing everyone in the auditorium to tears.
The singer is able to sing by using muscle memory, visual tuners, feeling the sound vibrations, and trusting her pitch.
Her performance led the crowd to a standing ovation, with Simon Cowell saying, “I don’t think you need an interpreter for this”, before pressing the golden buzzer.
