It’s almost hard to picture Ne-Yo without a hat, but that’s exactly what the R&B star did after he finally decided to embraced his balding head this year.
Ne-Yo is ditching his trademark hat look as part of his journey to self-love and acceptance!
Though we’ve always seen Ne-Yo with a hat since he rose to fame in 2006, as it turns out, he’s been relying on the hat for more than half of his life after his hairline started to recede before he hit puberty.
On the today show, the singer said:
“My hat has been my crutch for a long time. My hair started thinning… when I was 11, 12, 13, and you know how mean school kids can be, so I was allowed to wear my cap in school because I got picked on so much. So after a while, it just kinda became part of my face, to where I felt naked without it.”
Yet after marrying his second wife, Crystal Renay last year and becoming a father for the third time, Ne-Yo decided to quit hiding his hair loss, and the singer has been seen sporting his bare head in public.
We think you look good with or without the hat, Ne-Yo!
