In case you missed it, we have a new Darna, and it’s in the form of 19-year-old actress and future It girl, Liza Soberano!
Liza’s casting ushers in a new Darna generation, taking the reins from Angel Locsin. Angel has long been attached to the “Darna” project, but the actress had to back out last minute after having complications with her back.
It’s no secret that Angel has been pining to reprise the role for the longest time after she first donned the iconic red suit when she was still on GMA-7, so how does she feel about Liza taking over the character?
As it turns out, she has nothing but good wishes for the young actress!
In fact, as a way of giving her blessing to Liza’s casting, Angel even sent Liza Darna comics!
The new “Darna” movie will be directed by Erik Matti.
