WATCH- Sofia Coppola's The Beguiled Looks Like a Creepy Film!

Director Sofia Coppola, the woman behind the films Lost in Translation, Marie Antoinette, and The Virgin Suicides, is back with The Beguiled, and it looks like a creepy film!

Watch the trailer below:

The film stars Coppola regulars Elle Fanning and Kirsten Dunst, along with Nicole Kidman and Colin Farrell. Fanning and Dunst are a student and a teacher in the Miss Martha Farnsworth Seminary for Young Ladies, while Kidman plays their headmistress. The story is set in Civil War-era Virginia and Farrell plays a wounded soldier who disrupts the seminary when he is taken in. His arrival sparks seduction, lust, jealousy, and even murder.

The Beguiled began as a novel written by Thomas Cullinan in 1966. Clint Eastwood previously adapted it into a film in 1971, but Coppola said that she will be more faithful to the novel. We’re expecting her to add her Coppola stamps, such as dreamy vignettes and rock music.

The film will have its premiere in May at the Cannes Film Festival, where it will compete for the Palme d’Or in the main competition section. It will have its worldwide premiere on June 23, 2017.
