Two John Lloyd-Starred Films Are Possible Oscar Contenders

Two films that John Lloyd starred in have been shortlisted as the Philippines’ entry to the Oscars, according to local reports!
John Lloyd and Honor Thy Father Win in Film Festivals in NYC and Switzerland
The films are Lav Diaz’s “Hele Sa Hiwagang Hapis” and Erik Matti’s “Honor Thy Father”.
The Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP) shared the news on their website, saying that nine Filipino films in total have been selected as possible contenders.
Other films joining “Hele” and “Honor Thy Father” are Brillante Mendoza’s “Ma Rosa”, Joel Lamangan’s “Felix Manalo”, Jun Lana’s “Anino sa Likod ng Buwan”, Paul Soriano’s “Dukot”, Eduardo Roy Jr.’s “Pamilya Ordinaryo”, Gil Portes’ “Ang Hapis at Himagsik ni Hermano Puli”, and Roderick Cabrido’s “Tuos.”
Diaz’s “Hele Sa Hiwagang Hapis” bagged the the Silver Bear Alfred Bauer Prize at Berlinale earlier this year.
