Cathy Garcia Airs Her Side On “Degrading” Forevermore Talent In An Interview

The internet was ablaze with actress Rossellyn Domingo’s open letter on social media, which was addressed to “Forevermore” director Cathy Garcia-Molina, and included a copy of the complaint sent to ABS-CBN by her boyfriend, UP history professor Alvin Campomanes.

Cathy Garcia Molina interview Tito Boy

While the esteemed director has kept quiet for the most part as the issue boiled over, direk Cathy has finally broken her silence in an interview with Boy Abunda, released only for the web. The said interview was uploaded on the official ABS-CBN Youtube page.

Here are some highlights of the interview:

On direk Cathy’s cursing:

“I admit nagmumura po ako. I admit nagkamali po ako. I never lied. I turned into a monster—with all good intensions na mapaganda ang show.

On what happened on set:

With all good intentions of course, of sana mapaganda yung show, mapaarte yung artista, makuha ang kailangan para maging maganda yung show.”

On apologizing and treating extras:

At kung nagawa ko man, I am sorry to all those I have offended.”

“Had I known [he got offended], I would have said sorry. It’s not hard for me to say sorry and accept my mistake.

Hindi na siya mura to degrade, to humiliate or to insult anyone.”

“And yet hindi ko itinatama. Alam kong nagkamali ako. Kayang-kaya kong mag-apologize. Kung nalaman ko lang, right away I would have gone to him and said, ‘sorry hindi ka pala sanay.’”

“Nagsimula ako sa simulang-simula. Dumating ako sa industriyang ito walang kaalam-alam. It took these people, these good people to teach me. But I’ve had my share of those cursing and humilating words.”

On whether her actions would have changed had she known Campomanes was a professor:

“No.

Direk Cathy also said that she is open to meeting Rossellyn and Alvin to clear the air, and hopes that they can forgive each other.
