After yesterday’s winning game against the UP Fighting Maroons that earned the team a seat in the final four of the UAAP men’s basketball championship, Quezon City police officers escorted Ikeh to Camp Karingal in Quezon city where he is being detained.

Reasons for Ikeh’s arrest has not been formally disclosed yet, but according to reports, Ateneo Athletics Director Emmanuel Fernandez, assured that it is a “private matter” and had nothing to do with the UAAP.

Although the reason for his arrest are not yet clear, news reports have confirmed that Ikeh is being arrested for violation of RA 9262 or the “Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004.”

Despite being Ikeh’s first play season in the UAAP, he has proven to be a vital player in the Blue Eagles roster and is still expected to play in the next game.
