Pastimes into Pursuits: An ACLE about the Arts and Craft Industry

ACLEMAINPUB

The Adelfe Enu Crea Sorority (AEC) is the first and only business sorority in the University of the Philippines, based in the Virata School of Business (VSB). The sorority is committed to the pursuit of excellence in the academe, especially in business.

It aims to develop business ethics, discipline and civic-consciousness among its members through the initiation of various projects and activities.
Every year, AEC participates in the university-wide activity called Alternative Classroom Learning Experience (ACLE), providing the students with different value-adding topics that they can learn and explore aside from those discussed in their classrooms. For the previous years, AEC has offered topics focusing on stocks and finance.

This time, we are aiming to go beyond thebasic notions of business. This year’s topic, entitled “Turning Past-times to Pursuits: An ACLE about the Art and Crafts Industry”, aims to encourage students, creatives and non-creatives alike, to be bigger than their fears and to expand their horizons. We seek to inspire young, talented and driven individuals to pursue their passion by starting their own business.

Our speakers include Ms. Abbey Sy, author of the best-selling book The ABCs of Hand Lettering; Ms. Alyssa Gibbs and Ms. Aira Medina, celebrities and co-founders of Neon Island Clothing; Mr. Anthony “Ponggo” Go of Googy Gooeys and Mrs. Fozzy Dayrit of The Fozzy book. This event will be held on October 15, 2015, 1 – 4 pm, at BA 304 Virata School of Business, UP Diliman.
