This is certainly one wedding crasher no one minds!
While other artists have faked their wedding crashes (we’re looking at you, Maroon 5), Ed Sheeran gave this couple from Sydney, Australia more than what they had asked for, when he surprised them at their own wedding reception and sang for their first dance!
The surprise was made possible by Australian radio station KIIS 1065, who sponsored the couple’s wedding after receiving an email from the groom, who enlisted the station’s help to surprise the love of his life with their dream wedding, after the couple had to postpone their wedding indefinitely after going through hard times.Â
The radio station gifted the couple with their dream wedding amounting to $80,000– from the bride’s gown and makeup, the photographer, the venue, entertainment, and down to their honeymoon worth $10,000, according to KIIS 1065’s Youtube channel!
According to the station:
“When Ed heard that we were helping to organise a special wedding for two of our deserving listeners, Matt and Kya, and that they had chosen one of his songs for their wedding dance he offered to come and surprise them and give them a wedding gift they will never forget. Congratulations to Matt and Kya we hope you both find the happiness you deserve. And Ed Sheeran, well, we just love you!”
