Vice Ganda may be a constant sight in the annual Metro Manila Film Festival, but the box office-breaking actor and comedian said that he’s not setting his sights on winning Best Actor, according to local reports.
According to Vice, who stars in the movie”Gandarrapiddo: The Revenger Squad” alongside Daniel Padilla and Pia Wurtzbach, he prefers seeing his fans laugh and enjoy his movie instead of winning an acting award.
“Hindi naman ako magaling umarte. Nakakatawa lang siguro ako. Ayoko nang i-claim ‘yun, na magaling akong actor. Mas gusto ko na lang na sinasabi ng tao na nakakatawa ‘yung pelikula ko. Ayoko na rin mag-pretend na sabihin na, ‘Ako ay isang artist. Ako’y isang mahusay na aktor.’ Gusto ko lang magpatawa at masaya na ako na kapag pinapanood nila ‘yung pagpapatawa ko ay tumatawa sila. Nandun sa’kin ‘yungachievement.”
Meanwhile, when asked why he decided to do a superhero movie, Vice said that he wanted the project to be iconic, in the vein of Darna and Lastikman.
“Gandarrapiddo: The Revenger Squad” is directed by Joyce Bernal and is Star Cinema’s and Viva Films’ official entry to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival. The movie premieres on December 25.
