UP Musicians’ Organization Presents “MOrg Lite,” a Night of Acoustic Music

Every year, the UP Musicians’ Organization holds MOrg Lite, a night where MOrg members and alumni can perform their music. The set for this performance is usually acoustic. However, creative freedom is much appreciated especially since we are all in a pandemic.

The organization also has an annual app process which culminates in BandAid, a performance where the applicants of the organization get to show the members and alumni what they have learned and their potential as MOrg members through organizing their own event.

This year will be different. For the first time in 16 years, BandAid and Lite will be in one event called KoolAid. This is an online event to be held on NOVEMBER 13, 8PM via Facebook Live. The event will be streamed on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/upmorg.

This event is free, however we would greatly appreciate it if attendees would donate to the numbers that will be flashed on the video frame during the live stream.

This event sets to provide an opportunity for students to relax, have fun, and give back through being a benefit drive for KATRIBU NATIONAL. We plan to assist them for their two causes: Paskuhan sa Tribu and #NorthernLuzonNeedsHelp.

Paskuhan sa Tribu is an annual relief drive and basic mass integration that conducts medical missions and gift-giving activities to a chosen indigenous community. It is a community project headed by Kabataan para sa Tribung Pilipino (KATRIBU) every Christmas season that aims to generate material, financial resources, and technical support for the IP community beneficiaries of the mission.

#NorthernLuzonNeedsHelp is for our brothers and sisters from Cagayan Valley, Ilocos Region, and Cordillera Administrative Region that need our help. Devastation was left by Typhoon Maring in the forms of floods and landslides when it arrived on the night of October 11. Homes were left flooded and without power while families were forced to evacuate and leave behind many belongings. Katribu has set up a donation drive in order to acquire relief goods to be sent to families devastated by Typhoon Maring.

We, the UP Musicians’ Organization, hope that you get to attend and watch our applicants and members showcase their talents and skills through music!
