We finally have a Filipino folk song about local fruits!

After the classics, “Bahay Kubo” and “Da Coconut Nut,” we now have a new Filipino folk song about our local fruits called “Prutas Pilipinas.”

Ryan Cayabyab composed the song’s music, while writer and film producer Noel Ferrer wrote the lyrics. The song is performed by OPM Group, The Company.

The song contains rhymes and riddles about homegrown fruits in the Philippines. The song also lists and mentions the different fruits that can be found in the country, both native and non-native species. Some of the fruits mentioned are sinigwelas, suha, dalandan, guyabano, and more.

“Prutas Pilipinas” is in partnership with the local juice brand, Locally. It aims to raise awareness and educate Filipinos about something we can celebrate about, which are our fruits!

“Prutas Pilipinas” is now available on Spotify and will be available on YouTube soon.
