Miss Philippines Makes it to Top 15 in Miss Intercontinental Pageant

Miss Philippines Jennifer Hammond fought hard and well, and she made it to the top 15 of the Miss Intercontinental 2016, held in Colombo, Sri Lanka last Sunday.

Heilymar Rosario Velazquez of Puerto Rico was crowned Miss Intercontinental, followed by Tracy Zilva of Sri Lanka (1st runner up), Silvia Commodore of Ghana (2nd runner up), Florianna Russo of Italy (3rd runner up), and Amal Karina Nemer of Venezuela (4th runner up).

In 2014, Miss Philippines bet Kris Janson won 2nd runner up, while Christi Lynn McGarry won 1st runner up.

During the pageant, Hammond stunned in her elegant national costume and in her red evening gown.

The Binibining Pilipinas Facebook page congratulated Hammond. According to a post, “BPCI is proud of your achievement and expresses its gratitude to everyone who supported Jennifer in her journey.”

The Miss Intercontinental pageant started in 1971 as a tourism initiative for the island of Aruba. Through the years, it has grown to become an international event, and describes itself as the “UN of glamour and beauty” and a “showcase for the world´s most poised, stunning women.”
