Baka Bukas 1

Baka Bukas, a local LGBT film, has won it big at the recent 29th Vancouver Queer Film Festival in Canada.

The movie, starring Jasmin Custis-Smith and Louise delos Reyes, won the Vancouver fest’s highest honor, the 2017 OUTtvGo People’s Choice Award for Best Feature.

The movie is described as a “tender and funny love story that quietly captures the time in your life you’re expected to be an adult and yet you still haven’t figured [everything] out,” according to the film fest’s website.

Last July, the movie’s director, Samantha Lee, has won the Emerging Talent Award at the Outfest held in Los Angeles in July.

The movie revolves around the life a closeted lesbian (Jasmin) who has feelings for her best friend (Louise) and her struggles of expressing them to her.

It is a Cinema One movie.

Congratulations, you guys!
