Cavite Vice Governor Jolo Revilla Accidentally Shoots Self

Cavite Vice Governor Jolo Revilla is now in the hospital after an accident where he shot himself in the chest.

According to Atty. Raymond Fortun, Jolo was cleaning his government-issued .40 Glock pistol at his Ayala Alabang home when he accidentally fired it, shooting himself on his right chest. Jolo is currently at the Asian Hospital and Medical Center in Muntinlupa City, and told Atty. Fortun what happened. The attorney said:

(According to what he told me, he remembers the incident well. He was at home around 9 a.m. He was waiting for his mother and he thought of cleaning his government-issued hand gun. In a twist of fate, he accidentally fired it and shot his right chest area.)

The bullet then exited through his back, near his shoulder blade.

Atty. Fortun revealed that it was his father, Sen. Bong Revilla, who told him about the accident. He was asked to go to the hospital and check on the younger Revilla’s condition and come up with an official statement.

The injury is serious but the vice governor is stable, and is expected to undergo a minor operation to clean the wound and stop infection.
