Two Filipinos are vying for the title of CNN Superhero, marking the 10th year that the award has been given to former CNN Heroes of the Year.
2009 Hero of the Year Efren Peñaflorida, who became known for his “kariton” classes educating out-of-school youths, and 2011 Hero of the Year Robin Lim, a Filipino-American midwife who helps impoverished women deliver their babies safely in Indonesia, are among just five nominees for the title.
Other former CNN heroes who are nominated are Pushpa Basnet of Nepal, Liz McCartney of Los Angeles, and Chad Pregracke of Illinois.
Voting is open to the public, who are free to vote five times a day per method on the CNN Facebook page, Twitter, or on the CNN website.
