Yummy Eats 2012 Food Fair: A One-of-a-Kind Foodie Experience

When in Manila, a day is never complete without food! Almost ALL Filipinos love food; we spend around 60% of our earnings on meals, and always manage to sneak in a snack (or two!) in between the usual breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Having said that, it only makes perfect sense to pay homage to the Filipino’s favorite pastime by holding an event that celebrates food, cooking, and eating; and that’s just the spectacle we witnessed at the Yummy Eats 2012.

 

 

 

 

Last May 26, Hannah and I saw the largest gathering of hungry people as all sorts of foodies gathered at the Rockwell Tent to take part in the Yummy Eats 2012, Yummy Magazine’s annual food fair. We were greeted by an overwhelming amount of exciting tastes and smells that made for a truly one-of-a-kind gastronomical experience! Around 50 of the metro’s most innovative and delicious dishes, beverages and desserts were served up for sampling. And as expected, hoards of people flocked to try them all out! Among many of the eats we’ve sampled included about a dozen renditions of red velvet cupcakes, delectable cookies and chocolate, one-of-a-kind gelato flavors, savory roasted calf, fish n’ chips, stuffed lechon, and exotic carabao’s cheese! It was also at the Yummy Eats 2012 food fair that Mochiko released their newest mochi flavors, Oreo and milk and Milk Tea! Super yummy! Here’s a taste of the food frenzy we’ve witnessed that day. Cooking demos and cook-offs at the Yummy Eats 2012 Food Fair

Yummy Eats 2012 also presented some fun cooking demos with partners like Century Bangus and McCormick. Hunt’s held a fun Mother and Child cook-off, while Chef Marie Gonazales and Bruce Lim showed off their cooking prowess with their very own cooking demos as well.
