With the aim to contribute to developing world-class Filipino practitioners in the tourism and hospitality industry, the Youth for Tourism and Hospitality International Conference (Y4TH) also known as TOURCON, is back in its 7th consecutive year. This annual conference organized by University of the Philippines Asian Institute of Tourism Association of Alumni, Inc. (UP AAA) brings together educators, students, professionals, industry leaders, and government officers in the tourism and hospitality community from the Philippines and abroad.
This year’s Y4TH will be held via Zoom on November 19 and 26, 2022. It will banner the theme “Tourism Reimagined” with discussions revolving around reimagining and rethinking a more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable tourism for the planet, the community, and the industry through the talks of internationally and locally acclaimed speakers—Sec. Christina Garcia-Frasco of the Philippine Department of Tourism, Ms. Natalia Bayona of the United Nations World Tourism Organization, Assoc. Prof. Richard Philip Gonzalo of the University of the Philippines, Dr. Mohd Raziff Jamaluddin of the Universiti Teknologi MARA Malaysia, as well as other tourism industry leaders—giving the participants a diverse perspectives from the academe, hotel, destinations, and govenrment.
Apart from the forum, there are also workshops that will be led by student delegates from the Philippines and abroad. Witness as well the grit, creativity, and knowledge of students from various schools in the Philippines as they participate in the inter-school competitions namely destination marketing competition, research infographic poster presentation, travel brochure-making competition, Mx. Turismo. A new competition—tourism digital solutions competition—is also introduced this year.
The participation fee for #Y4TH2022 is Php 500.00 inclusive of e-certificate and access to the forums, competitions, and workshops.
