Looks like another biopic to look forward to: Yoko Ono is producing a movie based on her life with The Beatles’ John Lennon, according to reports!
The screenplay will be penned by Anthony McCarten, who was also behind the Stephen Hawking biopic, The Theory of Everything.
As one of the most popular musical couples in the 1960s, the movie will center on Yoko and John’s complex relationship. Co-producer Michael de Luca also said the plot will:
“focus on ripe and relevant themes of love, courage and activism in the U.S. – with the intention of inspiring today’s youth to stand up for and have a clear vision for the world they want.”
Yoko and John were peace activists who protested against the Vietnam War, and the two collaborated on projects such as John’s swan song, Double Fantasy.
