Yoga and Food Drive: Give the Gift of Nutrition to Underprivileged Kids and Families

As part of their seva (or selfless service) and giving back, Viel Olegario’s humble yoga group in the South has tied up with Gawad Kalinga‘s quarterly food drive where they will be holding free yoga classes for kids and yoga and, more importantly, will be giving a gift of nutrition to more than 1000 underprivileged kids and families. What makes this drive different from other feeding programs out there is that they don’t just address hunger, but also proper nutrition and healthy meals for all.

They will be serving VITAMEAL, a vegan meal that rebuilds proper nutrition for malnourished children and that has been used to fight malnutrition in Africa and other third world countries for more than 20 years.

This program was successfully launched last March and they are currently sourcing out donors for the kids for the following quarter nutrition program.

To support this cause, you can sponsor an entire family for a month by pledging 5 Vitameal bags at Php5,750.

If you choose to donate 50 bags, a newly scheduled feeding drive can be named after you and they may also do the drive in the area of your choice. The food drive will be held on August 7, 2016.
