Yes, There’s Going to be a “The Conjuring 3”!

The Conjuring 2

Horror film fans, we have great news for you: The Conjuring will be getting a third film in the franchise!

Report has it that David Leslie Johnson will develop the script for The Conjuring 3. He co-wrote the The Conjuring 2, so if you were a fan of that, you’re sure to love this.

The third film will be part of a film universe following the adventures of real-life paranormal researchers Ed and Lorraine Warren. Following The Conjuring and The Conjuring 2, spin-off films were developed, like Annabelle, and the upcoming Annabelle: Creation, The Nun, and the film on the Crooked Man.

There’s no word what The Conjuring 3 will be about, but it will be based on another real-life case of the Warrens. There’s also no word whether Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga will reprise their roles.

No one has been hired to direct the upcoming sequel. James Wan, the creator of the films, directed the first two films but remained as the producer for the spin-offs.

According to Wan, “I love the world, I love Patrick and Vera, and I have such a great relationship with New Line and Warner Bros., so the idea of coming back to that family is not a bad thing. I wouldn’t turn anything down, I think. But I am quite busy potentially for the next couple of years. So, who knows if they’ll actually wait for me to come back and do another one?”

Currently, the director is filming Aquaman, which will be released in December.

There’s no announcement yet when The Conjuring 3 will be released.
