Actress Yen Santos has wiped out her Instagram profile amid ongoing rumors of her involvement with “A Faraway Land” costar Paolo Contis.
Yen, who had 2 million followers on the platform, apparently deleted all her photos and unfollowed all accounts she had been following. It is unclear exactly why she did so, but it’s most likely in reaction to netizens continuing to drag her name into the breakup controversy of Paolo and his longtime partner LJ Reyes.
At the time when LJ confirmed in an emotional tell-all interview with Boy Abunda that she and Paolo had called it quits, Paolo was spotted spending time with a “mystery woman” in Baguio City who turned out to be Yen. Netizens then speculated that she was the third-party who caused LJ and Paolo’s split.
Paolo, however, denied these claims and called Yen just “a friend.” He said that he invited her to talk “for a day” since she lived nearby. He then apologized for unwittingly causing harm to Yen’s image due to his actions.
“Naging insensitive ako about the possible effects nung issue and I invited Yen for a day para may makausap since malapit lang siya sa North din,” the actor explained. “She went there as a friend. Hindi ko naisip na madadamay siya ng ganito. I’m sorry for this.”

Yen has not made any public statement herself to deny the rumors. Meanwhile, LJ has flown to the United States with her two children, including her daughter with Paolo, in order to mentally and emotionally heal. It is unknown if she will be staying there for good.
Paolo is currently taping for his new teleserye with Heart Evangelista, “I Left My Heart in Sorsogon.”
