ย Weโ€™re covering new ground this year.

After celebrating its tenth year anniversary in 2012, the Philippine Youth Congress on Information Technology (Y4iT) is carrying on to its 11th year with the most-sought speakers in the IT field.

Featured speakers for this yearโ€™s Y4iT include international practitioners Wendy Gorton of Google, Danny Castonguay of Kalibrr, Johan Janssens of Timble, Markku Kero of Job and Esther Technologies, Christy Book-Tsang of Linux Professional Institute (Asia-Pacific), and Bebo White of SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, a US national laboratory based in Stanford University.

This is part of the continuing thrust of Y4iT to include foreign experts in the lineup of speakers and encourage participants to engage in a lively discussion with them.

โ€œBy opening up Y4iT to a host of new ideas, we can be sure that our Filipino students get to see a survey of the exciting developments in Information Technology. We canโ€™t be left behind. Y4iT is one way to put our students in context,โ€ says Prof. Rommel Feria, Project Manager for Y4iT.

Y4iT will be held on Sept. 17-19 at the SMXConvention Center, PasayCity. This is the first time the congress will be held outside Quezon City since its inception in 2003. More than 25,000 participants are expected to join the event.
