Will Esports be included in the next NCAA season?

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) is reportedly considering the inclusion of e-sports in the tournament’s calendar for its 96th season.

“We’re seriously considering holding e-games or e-sports should and when we be allowed to open the NCAA this season,” says Colegio de San Juan de Letran’s incoming management committee chairman Fr. Vic Calvo. “It is best for everyone because it is safer for our athletes as well as for everyone.”

Mobile Legends, NBA 2K, and online chess are among some of the games being considered for the tournament. 

NCAA’s next season will be reduced in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. As such, only basketball, volleyball, track and field, and swimming are currently included in next season’s calendar.
