Neri Miranda recently spoke out on her social media account in response to questions regarding why her husband, Chito Miranda, no longer wears his wedding ring after netizens couldn’t see him wearing it in the couple’s maternity shoot for their new baby.
“Bakit hindi suot ni Chito ang wedding ring niya? Ayaw niya bang suotin? Para makachicks pa?” Neri began on her post, seemingly echoing what netizens were saying.

She then went on to explain that she herself doesn’t wear her own wedding ring anymore for more than five years now. “Why? Hindi na sya kasya!” she said.
“Lumaki talaga ako simula nung nagbuntis ako. Gustuhin ko man, ayaw kong maging purple ang daliri ko, haha! Kaya kung mapapansin nyo, engagement ring lang palagi ang nasusuot ko kase maluwag sya bago kami ikasal, ngayon tamang tama na lang.”
Chito, on the other hand, tends to forget his ring by the sink when washing his hands in restrooms wherever they go. Because of this, he now avoids wearing it so he doesn’t lose it.
“Si Chito, nagtry naman talaga siyang suotin,” she shared. “Kaya sabi ko wag na nyang suotin at baka mawala pa. Hindi naman ako sensitive kung may singsing syang suot. Aba’y alam naman ng lahat na kasal kami at may pamilya na siya.”
Neri then said that it doesn’t matter if couples wear their rings or not as long as they stay committed to one another.
“Ang singsing ay simbolo ng commitment. Pero mas gugustuhin ko namang committed siya sa amin, responsible asawa at tatay, kaysa naman suot nga singsing, nakakalimutan pa rin ang ipinangakong commitment sa akin at sa aming pamilya. Aanhin mo naman ang singsing kung pinapaiyak ka naman araw araw? Tandaan, wala yan sa singsing, nasa tao yan,” she added.
“And yes, kasya pa rin ang wedding ring niya. Ayun ang unfair!”
Chito then jumped into the comments section to support his wife’s sentiments. “Hahaha talagang nag-explain ka ha!” he said.
