According to reports, the new Anderson movie, titled “The French Dispatch of the Liberty, Kansas Evening Sun” (or simply “The French Dispatch”), is slated for release on July 24, 2020.

In an interview with Charente Libre, Anderson shared: “(The film is about) an American journalist based in France who creates his own magazine. It is more a portrait of this man, of this journalist who fights to write what he wants to write. It’s not a movie about the freedom of the press, but when you talk about reporters, you also talk about what’s going on in the real world.”

It’s already got big names in Hollywood included in the cast, namely Timothée Chalamet, Saoirse Ronan, Willem Dafoe, Jason Schwartzman, Bill Murray, Léa Seydoux, Kate Winslet, Elisabeth Moss, Christoph Waltz, Tilda Swinton, Benicio Del Toro, Adrien Brody, Rupert Friend, Frances McDormand, Owen Wilson, and many more!

Anderson is known for his signature style of filmmaking which makes use of symmetry, wide-angle shots, ornate details, and saturated colors to tell quirky and weirdly complicated stories about dysfunctional characters. His best-known works include The Grand Budapest Hotel, Moonrise Kingdom, and Isle of Dogs.
