We Witnessed the Philippines’ Biggest Mango Sago Being Made

In case you missed it, there was a huge mango festival in Cebu called, well, the “Cebu Mangoes Festival” hosted by Megaworld, the Department of Tourism, Department of Trade and Industry, and Department of Agriculture.

Held in the 35-hectare property called Mactan Newtown, one of the highlights of the event was the creation of the biggest mango sago in the Philippines!

Headed by Chef Hao of the University of San Jose Recoletos, the biggest mango sago was 6 feet in diameter, and contained 150 kilos of mangoes and 37 kilos of sago for a whopping combined weight of 200 kilos.

Check out how huge that mango sago is! Of course, the mangoes used in it were all freshly picked from the almost 250 mango trees found in Mactan Newtown.

The massive tapioca dessert goodness took five hours to make and everyone at the festival was able to share it. It was definitely a once-in-a-lifetime, one-of-a-kind treat – one that we still dream about to this day!

What’s your favorite dessert?
