Studio Ghibli’s official fashion line, GBL, is opening its first permanent store in Shibuya this summer and is launching 22 new shirt designs in commemoration of this milestone.
GBL first launched in 2017 and has been selling “American casual” clothes online and through pop-ups. This is the first time the brand has settled down with a brick-and-mortar shop that Studio Ghibli fans around the world can finally visit and enjoy.
The new shirt designs that GBL has introduced are based on nine of Studio Ghibli’s most iconic films through the years, namely: Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Castle in the Sky, My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki’s Delivery Service, Porco Rosso, Whisper of the Heart, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, and Arrietty.
