Star of movie Black Panther Chadwick Boseman passed away last August 28th, to the shock of people around the world. It seemed so sudden, but unbeknownst to the public, Chadwick had apparently been battling colon cancer for the past four years. The actor was 43 years old.
Chadwick Boseman rose to international fame for his role as King T’Challa in the Black Panther movies, which is under the umbrella of the Marvel Cinematic Universe alongside other blockbuster franchises Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America. Over the past couple of days since the passing of Boseman, several of his colleagues and friends from Marvel and Hollywood have taken it to social media to pay respects to the actor.

And now, Marvel Studios has also released their own tribute to Boseman, in a video posted on social media. The video features behind-the-scene clips, as well as file interviews from Boseman’s co-actors in the MCU such as Letitia Wright, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, and Robert Downey Jr. Marvel’s video post was simply captioned: “You will always be our King.”

To many, the Black Panther movie was so much more than just another Marvel franchise. With a predominantly black cast, Black Panther holds so much cultural significance—especially for black people around the world who lacked powerful representation in Hollywood films. But Black Panther paved the way—not just for representation of black people on screen, but for people of all colors.
