As you may already know, Boracay has been undergoing environmental rehabilitation since April 2018. One of the country’s major tourist destinations was closed for six months as part of the first phase of its rehab. A year after it reopened in October 2018, our team went to see what the island looks like now.

Boracay is now recognized as the Best Island in Asia by Condé Nast Traveler in its 2019 Readers’ Choice Awards. Among the top five are two other Philippine islands – Cebu and Visayas Islands in second place, and Palawan in fourth. When was the last time you went to Boracay?
