If there’s one distinct Filipino trait I’m proud of, it would be our courage to love our family despite the problems and hardships in life. We always look at the brighter side of things, even though, it means we need to celebrate special occasions away from each other. Such is this touching video that clearly resonates every Filipino household wherein one member sacrifices to provide for the family.
This heartwarming ad by Uratex describes the importance of spending time with our family via their viral Christmas-themed video entitled “Regalo.” (Gift in English)
The video depicts a typical family with a member who’s away from home. At the start of the video, the guy narrates his happy moments with his mom when he was a kid.
It also showed how they bonded by playing inside his room, as well as, reminiscing his mom reading books for him before bedtime. The guy and his brother in the video wished that this Christmas, they will be able to celebrate the season with their mom. As luck would have it, the mom arrives and they celebrated the Christmas together. The video ended with another tear-jerker scene where the older brother tells his mom that it’s now his turn to provide so the mom can rest at home.

Yes, I can totally relate and I agree with you that family is the best gift a person could ever have.
Sometimes, we asked ourselves, why do our parents work abroad? Why do we let our spouses work far from us? We may not know the reason now, but what’s important is, the love for our family and the time spent together are forever cherished.
