Watch This Dark Comedy If You Like “Heathers” and “American Psycho”

Thoroughbreds movie trailer

Dark comedies are the best, some notable ones being the 1988 film Heathers and the 2000 film American Psycho. But what if we told you that there’s a film that’s a combination of the two? Well, at least that’s what IndieWire wrote in the review of Thoroughbreds, an upcoming dark comedy.

Watch the trailer of Thoroughbreds below:

The film stars Anya Taylor-Joy as Lily, an upper-class boarding school student described as someone who “feels everything.” When her stepfather tells her that he won’t be supporting her, she enlists the help of Olivia Cooke as her best friend Amanda, who is described as someone who “feels nothing.” Together, they hire Anton Yelchin, a hitman for hire, to kill Lily’s stepfather.

Apart from IndieWire‘s glowing review, Hollywood Reporter called it “devilishly dark and sleekly entertaining.”

Joining the three in the cast are Paul Sparks and Francie Swift.

The film is directed by Cory Finley in his directorial debut.

Thoroughbreds will premiere on March 9, 2018.
