Those who grew up in the late ’90s and mid ’00s were possibly fans of Will & Grace, that hilarious sitcom that followed the lives of gay lawyer Will Truman, interior designer Grace Adler, and their friends Jack McFarland and Karen Walker. Its strong focus on its gay characters improved public opinion on LGBT issues, especially since Ellen DeGeneres’s TV show Ellen was cancelled just two months before for focusing too much on gay issues. Now, it’s easy to feel a void left by Will & Grace, but for one mini-episode, the gang is back!
Erick McCormack, Debra Messing, Sean Hayes, and Megan Mullaly recently reunited to shoot one mini-episode of the show. The episode is political in nature and focused on Will and Grace convincing Jack to vote Hillary Clinton (Karen is a Donald Trump supporter). Despite its focus on politics, fans can still appreciate the show even if they don’t follow the presidential elections in the USA.
There are enough references to elicit feelings of nostalgia: the New York apartment, Will’s corniness, Grace’s attempts at opera, Karen’s relationship with Stan and Rosario, Jack’s many boyfriends, and the best part, “Just Jack.” There’s even an inside joke: when Jack opens the fridge, he dramatically asks, “Why does everything in there look 10 years old?” (the show ended in 2006).
Because it is set in the present day, the show tackles current events like Fifty Shades of Grey, Hamilton, Brangelina’s divorce, viral videos, and Katy Perry.

Will & Grace aired from 1998 to 2006, and followed Will (McCormack), a masculine lawyer living with his interior designer best friend Grace (Messing). Together, they navigated life in New York and examined their career, friendships, and relationships. They are accompanied by Jack (Hayes), a flamboyant gay man who constantly changes partners and jobs, and Karen, a multi-millionaire socialite who does secretarial work for Adler.
The show has been critically acclaimed, winning 16 of the 83 Emmy nominations it has received. Will & Grace is one of three sitcoms where all leads received an Emmy Award. The show’s cultural impact is also undeniable, with then US Vice President Joe Biden saying that the show “probably did more to educate the American public” on LGBT issues “than almost anything anybody has ever done so far.”
