The trailer for the upcoming masterpiece, Citizen Jake, by director Mike de Leon has finally been released this week at the QCinema International Film Festival.
It was presented along with the premiere of the restored version of Mike de Leon’s Batch 81.
Citizen Jake follows the story of a journalist in the midst of corruption, politics, and the quest for integrity. Take a look at the trailer below:
Citizen Jake is dubbed as the “comeback film” of the legendary director. While this is enough to get people talking, the movie’s lead actor, Atom Araullo, also has his fans eager to see him in his acting debut.
Aside from the great mind and skills behind this film, it’s also the story and social relevance of this masterpiece that has made it a much-awaited film. It promises to be an appealing movie for the masses despite its unconventional storytelling.
The cast and some fans may have expected the film to be part of the upcoming MMFF, but the people behind it have already stated that they will not be competing in the annual film festival.
We will just have to wait for it to finally premiere in cinemas soon.
