It may be a series of unfortunate events for the Baudelaire siblings, but it’s a fortunate thing for viewers: Netflix will produce the TV show A Series of Unfortunate Events, which is based on a series of 13 novels by Lemony Snicket. In 2004, the series was adapted to film starring Jim Carrey and Meryl Streep.

The show will consist of eight episodes, but it isn’t clear if they will adapt the entire series of books. Its executive producer is Daniel Handler, the author of the series.
