Imagine You and Me is Richard and Mendoza’s first movie together after starring in the wildly successful improv soap opera played on Eat Bulaga, known for its split screen frame and Mendoza’s dubbing of lines from popular songs and films. According to Nielsen ratings, Eat Bulaga enjoyed a 300% increase in its viewership. It is now also being taught in class at the University of the Philippines.
Imagine You and Me is set in Italy, which explains the tandem’s absence on Eat Bulaga. They will be joined by Jasmine Curtis-Smith, William Martinez, Luis Alandy, and Elijah Alejo.
The movie will be directed by Mike Tuviera, and will be released on July 13, three days before #AlDub’s anniversary on the show.
