WATCH: Telenobela EP Launch

 poster

3 years and a couple of line up additions in between – that’s how long it took for this to finally happen. After all the time spent dreaming and music making, all the pent up frustrations, the emotions, the experiences, the laughter, and all the heartbreaks, can now all finally be put to rest. It’s now time for a release, and we hope it’s just the beginning of something we can all call special.

There’s ERA! started back in 2013 when long time band mates Eric and Richard asked Allen to hang out and try making music together. Together, they first used the name “Tersera”. The name later evolved into “There’s ERA” as a joke at first, but was later used to associate deeper with the brand, where E.R.A. stood for the initials of the first members.

As a three-piece band, they first released an independent home-recorded song “Wag Nang Saktan” in 2014. On that same year, after a realization that having only three members was starting to bottleneck the progression of their music, Patrick, who has been Allen’s bandmate from another, was added in the lineup to strengthen the guitars.

In 2015, There’s ERA! joined the Yellow Room Music Battle of the Bands. The band was not able to make it into the finals lineup, but was given another chance to compete in it as a wild card. They took the opportunity ultimately winning as 5th place. Having won a place in the top 10 gave the band an opportunity to record one of their songs called “Asa” at Yellow Room, Alabang. The positive feedback from the producer served as one of the key reasons into deciding to fully track all songs for then planned EP at Yellow Room.

Luis from brother band Syg (formerly Silence Your Guilt), who helped the band with guitar duties on several occasions, decided to formally join the ranks in 2016, forming the band which we know of today.

There’s ERA! will finally be releasing their debut EP “Telenobela” this coming December 3, 2016 (Saturday) at Mow’s, located at Kowloon House Basement, 20 Matalino St. Quezon City, Philippines, starting from 8pm onwards.
