‘The New Mutants’ will be showing in cinemas this year and we can’t wait! After all, it’s been a while since the last X-Men movie and we love how different the direction this one seems to be taking. Despite all of the rumors and delays surrounding the movie (it has been two years since the first trailer for it came out), the new trailer still offers the same tone as the first one, promising a different kind of comic book movie this time around.
In case you haven’t seen the new trailer yet, here it is:
‘The New Mutants’ has absolutely nothing to do with the old X-Men movies we’ve watched thus far. It is a completely new story in the X-Men Universe, and we’re hoping it will knock our socks off.
According to the director, Josh Boone, it is going to be a distinct ‘rubber-reality’ supernatural horror movie. “Our take was just imagine the horror genre through comic book movies and make each one its own distinct sort of horror movie. Drawing from the big events we love in the comics,” he said in an interview with IGN.
As an original horror thriller, ‘The New Mutants’ will take place in an isolated hospital where a group of young mutants is being held for psychiatric monitoring. When strange occurrences begin to take place, both their new mutant abilities and their friendships will be tested as they battle to try and make it out alive.
‘The New Mutants’ is set to show in cinemas on April 3, 2020. Are you excited?
