The Netflix show Stranger Things left a void in our hearts when we finished watching it. It was an incredibly moving story about a woman, played to perfection by Winona Ryder, as she tried to find her missing son. Her missing son’s friends uncover a government organization that performs experiments to access a different world. It became a cult hit, especially since the series was an homage to ’80s movies by Stephen King and Steven Spielberg.
For those who can’t wait for the release of season two in 2017, Netflix also launched The OA, another series that has a supernatural and sci-fi bent. This one tells the story of a woman who reappears after being missing for seven years.

The OA was launched after Netflix sent some mysterious tweets, including “Have you seen death?,” “Have you seen darkness?,” and “Have you seen light?”
It sounds vague, but the show is by Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij, who are behind The East, a film about environmental terrorism, and Sound of My Voice, which followed a couple as they entered a cult.
As with all Netflix releases, all episodes of The OA has been released on December 16.
